BAICHUNG PLAYS IN WREXHAM DEFEAT

Bury lost heavily to Wrexham 4-1 at Gigg Lane on Saturday afternoon, but Baichung Bhutia played for over half a hour of the game as Bury tried in vain to claw their way back into the match. There is a full match report on-line here.

BHUTIA DOUBLE AT SCARBOROUGH

Bury Reserves won their first game of the season on Wednesday afternoon, beating Scarborough 2-0 with both goals beng scored by Baichung Bhutia.

News from the official club website reports that Baichung has turned down the opportunity to play for India in more international games in September. He said, "I have missed most of the pre-season training because of the Indian side touring the UK, I want to stay at Gigg Lane and claim my first team place and work on my fitness. It was this that stopped me making more first team starts last season and First Team Football is my objective for this campaign".

OPENING DAY DISAPPOINTMENT
